Anthropologie for less...well, sort of

So, one of my favorite stores is Anthropologie.  Usually it's just for inspiration though. Another favorite is Forever 21.  Both fun and trendy, but at two completely different price points.  I thought I'd show y'all today that you can find your favorite Anthro styles for just a fraction of the price.  Here is just a sampling of what I mean...

Anthro letters

I love letters as wall art...especially Anthropolgie style.

But at $18 a pop, it wasn't in the budget.  Sooo...I figured out a way to get the look I want for a fraction of the cost.  Sure, the real thing is probably better, but I'm so excited with how this project turned out!

I saw a way online to make wood like like metal, so instead of using wood I headed to Hobby Lobby and bought 3 3D cardboard letters at $2.47 each.  (I'm sure they'll go 50% off next week, but I was already there for something else so I picked them up : )) 



I ALWAYS have black spray paint on hand, and I did....but only enough to get me this far...



So I went to my craft paint box (which is full due to all the school projects we've done over the last few years!) and luckily I had some black.  I finished them off with that.



This only took a few minutes to dry. Then, I had some silver craft paint that I rubbed on with a paper towel.




So easy and so quick.  This project took me less than 30 minutes and less than $10.

I may go back with another coat of my "zinc" and give them a shinier look...not sure yet.  What do you think?

Wallpaper...will the next owners of our house hate me?

I don't know about you, but I am loving wallpaper right now.  There are so many gorgeous and luxurious styles....

The possibilities are endless with what you could do.  Everyone from Target  to Schumacher has gorgeous versions to choose from...from murals to trellis to damask. 
 
My only problem is remembering the hours and hours I spent taking off the country blue floral wallpaper from most of our home.  I'm looking at redoing our office so maybe a focal wall of wallpaper or even a wallpaper-type stencil would be better.

What do you think?  Have you tried a stencil or the easier to put up and remove wallpapers?  I'd love to hear what you've tried!

Inspiration

And, yes, that's code for online window shopping.  One of my very favorite stores is Anthropologie.  I love that their look is unique and that I'm not going to see all my friends have the same exact shirt or decor.  I was browsing this morning and thought I'd show y'all some of my faves.  Enjoy!
