There are a few fabrics that I associate with a certain season...it doesn't mean they are specific to that season, but in my head I automatically put myself to that time of year. Houndstooth is one of those fabrics. My mind quickly goes to Hunter boots, argyle sweaters and corduroy. I've seen houndstooth used in bright, happy and almost springy rooms and I still get that warm fall feeling. Here are some of my favorites...some all ready for fall and others and others still craving that summer sunshine.

I love this print especially in the more traditional way, but I couldn't help but enjoy it in all these spaces. I think because it is a bold but familiar print, it brings about a comfortable feeling to a room. What do you think? Is it a fabric from the past or one that keeps on reinventing itself?
